Actors Federal Credit Union cares about their members. I have banked with them for 30 years and they have never failed me. I use their bill pay service and it works well for me. They also have incredibly fair rules regarding how much money you can have in your account, I haven’t incurred a fee even when my accounts have been low. They cater to entertainment professionals and they know sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down. You can easily talk to a human on the phone if you have a problem or a question. They make it feel like I live in a small town, and I like that.

I don't know what's going on, but something has shifted here within the past few months regarding customer service. It's as if the staff all got a huge pay cut or it's not a happy office environment anymore. I don't know. But the past couple times I've called Member Services, the people I've spoken to have been unnecessarily rude to the point where it's shocking and confusing. Big "we're doing you a favor" vibes. Y'all, this isn't a Bushwick coffeeshop, it's a bank. I've worked numerous customer service jobs so I get it's a thankless job, but this is people's money you're dealing with here. The last person I spoke to was so rude I actually called her out on it in the moment. If a client is asking a clarifying question, there's no reason to be snarky and condescending with your response.

otherwise having a credit union is cool. sucks that the big banks are evil.

I was so happy when I found this bank, and the first person I spoke with was extremely helpful. Then they passed it along someone called Lisa, and it was just downhill from there point. She was not helpful, did not communicate properly, I would leave voice messages, she would not return them, then eventually she said that my application was over 30 days and that I would have to reapply. I then received an email saying that my application had been denied and I was finally able to speak with her again, she was rude and unprofessional. I then reapplied, and my case was handed to someone called Michael, and he was also not helpful and my application was denied almost instantly. It felt like some sort of retaliation. I was under the impression that this bank's mission was to support artists, but I was absolutely wrong.

This is a MUST bank for entertainers! The staff is always cordial and attentive, the fees are fair, of any but most of all, there are all kinds of helpful discounts for different services as a result of being a member.

I literally closed all of my other bank accounts ( business accounts included) with the major banks because it's all fee driven and uncaring customer service. One downside? One location in the heart of been I've been with them for 20+ years and that has not changed my opinion. They're awesome! I love them, and they have emergency call service if needed!

It's wonderful to know that the credit union is still thriving. I was the teller/loan assistant/file clerk of the credit union from about 1970 to 1972. There was a manager named Harold and a loan officer. He embezzled $ and fled to South America! I was trained by a gentleman named J Frank Lucas. Nice memories.

They are easy to reach by phone and email, respond quickly to all inquiries, and provide helpful guidance whenever I have questions, big or small. I joined AFCU when I was interested in buying a home and it was one of the best financial decisions I ever made! AFCU guided me through the mortgage process with clarity and ease, answering all of my questions and concerns with care and kindness. I highly recommend this credit union!
